Katie Wilkinson joined Rangers in the summer of 2024, having left English club Southampton, putting pen to paper on a two-year deal in Glasgow.

Wilkinson, 30, became the second addition from the English Women’s Championship outfit that summer following the arrival of defender Laura Rafferty.

The forward joined from Southampton having been nominated for the English Women’s Championship Player of the Season award last season.

In addition, the 29-year-old scooped the Player’s Player of the Season award for the Saints as she finished as the side’s top goalscorer.

Indeed, Wilkinson first caught the eye of Birmingham City, where she made her Women’s Super League debut at just 17-years-old.

She then spent time with Aston Villa and London Bees, before a move to Sheffield United in 2019 saw her fire the Blades to within touching distance of promotion to the top flight and collect the Championship Player of the Season and Golden Boot awards for two consecutive seasons.

Known for her goal-scoring ability, she showed exactly why Rangers brought her to Glasgow with an outstanding first campaign in Scotland in front of goal.

Starting as she meant to go on, she was on target on four occasions in the opening day win over Aberdeen in the 24/25 season before going on to notch a tally of 46 goals in just 41 appearances.

Unsurprisingly, Wilkinson claimed both SWPL and Rangers’ top goalscorer in her first season, whilst being named the club’s players’ player of the year for her showings, as she targets another strong campaign in front of goal in the 25/26 season under Leanne Crichton.

Wilkinson continued her fine form under the former Scotland international, finding the back of the net on a further 40 occasions in just 36 outings as she claimed the football writers’ and club’s player of the year award.

She then put pen to paper on a two-year contract extension in May 2026 as she targets further silverware in Rangers colours in the campaigns ahead.
