RANGERS rounded-off their pre-season camp at St George’s Park with a 1-1 draw in a friendly match against Barnsley this afternoon.
Russell Martin’s men lined-up with a starting team of Jack Butland in goal behind James Tavernier, Nasser Djiga, John Souttar and Max Aarons.
Thelo Aasgaard and Joe Rothwell were in midfield alongside Mohamed Diomande, with Kieran Dowell, Findlay Curtis and Josh Gentles completing the line-up.
In the first-half, Butland pulled off a good save to deny Barnsley’s Neil Farrugia, before Findlay Curtis had an opportunity saved at the other end.
There were five changes at the break as Manny Fernandez, Bailey Rice, Connor Barron, Nico Raskin and Danilo all came on in place of John Souttar, Nasser Djiga, Thelo Aasgaard, Joe Rothewell and Josh Gentles.

The opening goal followed shortly after as Rangers took the lead with a well worked move. Keiran Dowell and Mohamed Diomande combined before the latter sent a ball into the box. Danilo was alert and sent a close-range effort into the back of the net.
There were further changes in the second-half as Liam Kelly, Jefte, Nedim Bajrami, Zander Hutton, Oscar Cortes and Lyall Cameron were all introduced in place of Jack Butland, Max Aarons, Mohamed Diomande, Findlay Curtis. James Tavernier and Kieran Dowell.
Barnsley scored late in the game through Max Watters as he raced through on goal and finished low beyond Liam Kelly.
