RANGERS Football Club was proudly represented at a landmark evening last month in Parliament as the Rangers FC Supporters Association London Branch celebrated its 65th anniversary.
Hosting a dinner in the historic Palace of Westminster in the Churchill Room, it gave the opportunity for supporters, club representatives and legends to unite on a memorable night honouring decades of loyalty and connection to the club.
The event was proudly sponsored by Mark Cummings of Invicta Public Affairs, who is a long standing supporter of Rangers FC and the Rangers FCSA London Branch.
The event was hosted by Baroness Eleanor Laing, whose longstanding support and hospitality helped shape the evening into a fitting tribute for the branch’s rich history.
Also in attendance were Dr Zubir Ahmed MP (Glasgow South West) and Susan Murray MP (Mid Dunbartonshire) who represent the local areas around Ibrox Stadium and Auchenhowie respectively.
Serving as Guest of Honour was former manager Alex McLeish, who shared reflections on his time in the dugout spanning five years from 2001.
Club legends John ‘Bomber’ Brown and Ian Durrant, were also both in attendance and were warmly welcomed by the London supporters for their memorable playing days and what they achieved whilst wearing the famous blue jersey.
The evening celebrated the branch’s long history and the continued support, commitment and loyalty of Rangers supporters at Ibrox and across the world.
Speaking after attending the anniversary dinner, Executive Director, Fraser Thornton said: “It was a real privilege to be asked and to attend the RFCSA London Branch’s 65th anniversary dinner in such an iconic setting at the Palace of Westminster.
“The London Branch has been thriving for over six decades, and it was fantastic to celebrate that legacy alongside so many who continue to represent the club with pride.
“On behalf of everyone at Rangers, I would like to thank the branch for their continued loyalty, commitment and support for the club, and I look forward to seeing the branch continue to bring supporters together for many years to come.”
