The young Gers continued their winning start to the league campaign making it eight wins out of eight, with Matt Yates, Kane Ritchie-Hosler, Alex Lowry and Julian Anderson getting on the scoresheet.
Thomson said: “It was obviously a good performance, it was a bit huffy and puffy in the first-half at times lacked that little bit of quality in the final third.
“Albeit Jay [Hogarth] made a good save in the first-half, a terrific save actually, but I think overall we were delighted with the boys tonight.
“It was fantastic for Jay’s save and a terrific finish from Matt Yates, he’s got that capability.
“I thought from defence to midfield we were really good but we lacked that bit of cutting edge and that final decision in the final third and once we started to get that the goals started to come.”
The Gers were 1-0 ahead at the break and Thomson said they were encouraged to go and finish the game in the second-half.
“I thought we looked quite safe at the back so we are just delighted with the boys.
I felt a wee bit for Chris McKee, he had a number of chances, he was obviously desperate to get his goal.
“I thought Kane Ritchie-Hosler was terrific tonight he did endless running, and provided endless service to the boys in the middle of the goal and he was unlucky not to get a couple of goals, I thought he was absolutely terrific.
Next up for the 18’s is Celtic in the second round of the Scottish Youth Cup next Sunday.
Thomson added: “Everyone will be dying to get in the team which is a good problem for me and David to have.
