The American deputised for the missing James Tavernier at right-back in the win over the Staggies at Ibrox, and he was left satisfied with how he performed.
He told RangersTV: “I really enjoyed it. Obviously it’s taken some time but I have been working really hard in training and I think I have trained really well.
“I was pretty pleased with my [own performance]. I think I was a little rusty as I haven’t played much over a massive run of games, so I think I have things I can improve on but I think I was positive in my play.”
Polster revealed how much he’s taken from watching Tavernier, continuing: “I have definitely learned from him. He is very positive in his play and he likes to get up and down the pitch and put crosses in, so I try and replicate that a little bit, though obviously I’m not going to as I’m not James Tavernier!
Polster now hopes to keep the shirt for the visit of Aberdeen to Ibrox on Saturday, and added: “I think I have played well and I don’t think I have hurt my chances by any means, but I think I can improve on that performance and when I get a run of games I think I can show more what I can do.
“I’m definitely ready for it. I think it is about recovering and being ready for the next game. The boys did really well tonight so we just need to do that again on the weekend.”
