The 17-year-old, who came through the Academy and signed her first professional contract in the summer, said it was a ‘proud moment’ as she helped the Light Blues progress to Round Two of the competition.
Looking back on this afternoon’s 4-0 victory over PAOK, Maclean said: “I thought we struggled in the first half to get into it at the start but in the second-half we found our rhythm a bit more and we managed to add goals into it and as soon as we got one goal we just kept going.
“When Malky spoke to us at half-time he just said we were doing well but we just needed a bit more in the final third to get the goals and to keep going. Obviously we struggled in the heat in the first half but in the second half it was a bit cooler so that made it easier.
“As soon as you get one goal everyone settles into it and all the nerves can go away and the team builds in confidence so it makes it easier.
“It was a really proud moment it was great to have my mum and dad here watching as well so I am really pleased.”
With the games coming thick and fast for squad, the midfielder hopes Rangers can take these performances into their next Scottish Women’s Premier Leauge match against Hearts on Wedensday evening.
She continued: “That was the aim when we came here to do as well as we could and I think for a team like this to go through to the next round it just makes your confidence grow more and hopefully we can take our performances back into the league.”
