Alex and Scotland enjoyed a positive international break as Scot Gemmill’s side boosted their hopes of securing qualification to the Under-21 European Championships in 2025 with successive victories.
The 20-year-old midfielder was on the scoresheet in yesterday’s victory as he got the ball rolling with a first-half penalty, making an impact from the start after coming off the bench in the victory over Hungary last week.
Scotland will be keen to build on back-to-back victories when they travel to face Belgium and Hungary next month.

Ross capped off a promising start to the month of October following successive appearances for the Gers first-team with another call-up to the Northern Ireland Under-21s squad.
The 20-year-old was an unused substitute in the victory away to Azerbaijan, while he was introduced in the second half as Tommy Wright’s side fell to a 2-1 defeat to Serbia.
The Green and White Army will be keen to return to winning ways next month as they face England at Goodison Park.
Bailey Rice – Scotland Under-19s

Scotland Under-19s 1-2 Portugal Under-19s – Sunday, October 15 – Friendly Tournament
Bailey was called into the Scotland Under-19s squad once again as they travelled to Pinatar in Spain for a pair of friendly outings.
The young Scots were on the losing side in their opening game against the Republic of Ireland, with Bailey featuring for the final 20 minutes.
The 17-year-old then started in the narrow 2-1 defeat to Portugal on Sunday as former Gers Academy striker Rory Wilson netted in the second half.
Archie Stevens – England Under-18s

Morocco Under-18s 0-1 England Under-18s – Saturday, October 14 – International Friendly
England Under-18s 1-1 Korea Republic Under-18s – Tuesday, October 17 – International Friendly
Archie and England Under-18s enjoyed an unbeaten three-match warm-up tournament in Marbella as they ramped up their preparations for the Under-17 World Cup next month.
The 17-year-old attacker started and played 83 minutes in the young Lions’ 1-1 draw with Belgium, while he was also given the nod from the off in yesterday’s 1-1 draw with Korea Republic.
Brazil, Iran and New Caledonia await Ryan Garry’s side in the group stages of the World Cup next month in Indonesia.
Josh Gentles – Wales Under-17s
Due to the escalating conflict in the Gaza region, UEFA postponed Wales’ Under-17 European Championships qualifiers which were due to take place in Tel-Aviv.
