Arfield is expecting a tough evening against what he feels are one of the strongest teams remaining in the competition.
Speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference he said: “It is as big a game as any, it is a terrific chance to get one step further than we did last season so it is a huge game against a very good team and is one we are extremely looking forward to.
“We have had a chance to rest and recuperate, we have had three good training sessions leading into this game and we know we need to be at our best.
“With the amount of games we have played this season I think the rest has been well received from the squad and we can put our full energy into Thursday night's game.
“This club is built on tradition and success so to go one stage further would be great for us but I need to keep emphasising this is a top team we are playing against - one of the strongest teams in the competition.
“To get through would be a great success for us and hopefully we can do so.”
Reflecting on last Thursday’s 1-1 draw in the Czech Republic, Arfield feels Gers need to make it difficult for Slavia from the outset tomorrow evening.
He continued: “It was a great result, in the first half we probably weren't at it as much as we could've been in terms of putting pressure on the ball.
“They have got great technicians throughout the team so sometimes you need to really appreciate the calibre of player you are playing against but in the second half I think it was more like us and we got up against them.
“We made it difficult for them to play the intricate passes so that is exactly what we have got to try and do tomorrow.
“We got the goal just before half time and took that into the second half and I think we had another couple of chances where we could've taken a better result home but overall we have to be pleased with our performance.
“We have taken a good result away from home, now we are at Ibrox and hopefully we can go one stage further.”
