With a 1-1 draw in the Czech Republic last Thursday, the Gers boss has urged his side to play with belief and confidence at Ibrox.
Speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference, Gerrard said: “I think we have to handle the ball and have to show we are Rangers, we are a good team, a strong team at home and really play with belief and confidence.
“I felt certainly in the opening 20/30 minutes in the first-leg we were organised and we had a good shape about us but when we regained the ball we never kept it for long enough.
“I want us to really come out of the blocks quicker tomorrow, we have had better preparation going into this game but I want us to really show we can play both sides of the game.
“I want Slavia to really feel us, I want us to be aggressive but at the same time we have to show we are a good team and we have good players that can handle the ball at this level.
“It will be interesting if we can find our level on both sides of the game and that will give us a better chance.”
With Filip Helander’s away goal ensuring a draw in last week’s first-leg, Gerrard feels the tie is finely poised ahead of tomorrow’s match.
He continued: “We realised it was a really tough place to go, they have got a fantastic home record domestically and in Europe as well so I think the positive thing for us is we have set it up for Ibrox.
“We have got the away goal and we have given ourselves a real good opportunity.
“Having said that, we believe we are going to have to perform an awful lot better to get through because we know that Slavia are going to come and give everything they've got so we believe it is really set up for a good 50/50 tie.
“We have played against this team now for 90 minutes so if anything we have only got even more respect for them because you can see quite clearly they play at a real high intensity, they have got good players that can hurt you if you give them time and space and they are a very fit and powerful team.
“We are under no illusions and we have got every bit of respect but we have got no fear as well and we are a team that are here because we deserve to be and because we are a good team with a really strong home record.
“Everyone is looking forward to this game with excitement and believe that if we find our level and our best it could be enough.”
With the opportunity to reach the last eight of the competition, Gerrard urged his side to give their all.
He said: “It is right up there at the top of the most important games we have faced and played in.
“The opportunity to achieve the last eight from where the club was when I first came in is again a chance to achieve something monumental.
“We want to go and empty everything we have got into this game and we don't have to worry about anything else that is on the horizon after it, we just want to treat this game in isolation and go and give it our best and see where it takes us.”
