The 21-year-old arrives highly rated and having scored against the club while at Nice in the UEFA Europa League in 2024.
His journey since has taken him to the Bundesliga with VfB Stuttgart, and the Algerian international says he wants to excite the Gers supporters in the side’s bid for success this season.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV for the first time, Bouanani commented: “I can bring a lot of things like passing, dribbling and scoring.
“I really like to give assists, and I have energy and happiness.
“I don’t really like to speak about my qualities, but I hope everyone will see what I can do here.
“I like to take pleasure. I know there are 51,000 in the stadium, and it can be really nice. I’m very excited to play at the stadium.
“It was a good experience to play in the Europa League and also in the Bundesliga.
“I know it’s a tough league with a lot of duels and intensity. It’s also something I need to work on.
“It can be really nice, and I’m excited to start.”
The 21-year-old joins a dressing room which has had 14 additions across the summer, and he arrived on the same day as forward Kevin Kelsy, who made the switch from Portland Timbers.
Bouanani hopes he will be helped by the fact that he is familiar with a few faces in the Rangers ranks.
He continued: “I know some players from playing against them. I also know Djeidi Gassama, because we played against each other when he was at PSG, Youssef Chermiti, and Clinton Nsiala, who I played with in the French youth teams.
“The manager? He called me yesterday morning. He couldn’t call me on Wednesday morning because they had the game.
“I wanted to watch the game [against Falkirk], but I didn’t have the channel in Germany!
Deadline day proved a busy 24 hours for the club, with Bouanani moving in the small hours of Thursday morning to begin his journey to Glasgow.
Rangers are back in Scottish Premiership action tomorrow afternoon when they host Motherwell at Ibrox, and the Algerian hopes his first taste of the stadium will be a happy one.
He added: “I’m very excited to start in front of the fans and with my teammates.
“[The move] started at midnight. I got a lift to Dusseldorf, which took a few hours, then flew to Manchester to do the medical.
“I was then in the van up to Glasgow, which took a few hours. It was a long trip, but finally I’m here, so I’m really happy.
“There were a lot of things, and for me it’s the best project.
“I’m really excited to get going on Saturday in front of the Rangers fans. I hope that we will win and get the three points.”
