It’s back to Scottish Premiership action for Gers and the left-back is expecting a tough match against the Paisley side who currently sit third in the league.
Speaking to the media at today’s pre-match press conference, he said he feels the Rangers squad are in a good place heading into this match.
He continued: “St Mirren are in very good form, they are third in the league which is no coincidence. We have watched them, they are a quality side, they defend very well and have a very good structure.
“We know how they play and we respect them a lot like every opponent. It will be a hard and tough game but I believe in our team and our positive mood in this moment and we are in front of our crowd. St Mirren are in good form, they have good shape and I need to praise them.
“I am happy because our subs react very well when they come on and it is the energy we need. You cannot play with 11 or 12 players, you need a whole squad to be always ready to jump in.
“The guys train very well even when they don't play. The atmosphere is good and I think that proved that in the game against Liverpool and as I said we need the whole squad, the season is long and there are a lot of games.”
When asked about fellow Croatian Antonio Colak, who already has 11 goals to his name this season, Barisic said he is pleased to see him settle in Glasgow.
He continued: “I have a very good relationship with him, I am very pleased and happy because he has settled here very quickly. He is scoring goals, he is in great form and in great shape.
“He is a very positive person, very motivated and very professional and it is no coincidence that he is scoring like that. We talk a lot off the pitch and even today he told me let's go tomorrow, you assist and I score - so he is very motivated and I think you can see that on the pitch that he is really enjoying being here in Glasgow.”
On a personal level, Barisic insists he thrives on the competition in the squad but feels he is also in a good place heading into another busy run of fixtures.
He added: “Competition is always good, when you play in a club like Rangers you will always have competition and it will always push you forward.
“I worked very hard before pre-season and I came in good shape and I was very motivated. I wanted to achieve consistency and I think I am in a good way to do that. I am very pleased with the position and I am where I want to be, of course some things can always be better but I am trying to help the team and trying to help myself also, the season is long so let’s see what is going to happen but I feel good.”
