Barker, who joined during the summer from Manchester City, came on as a substitute for the injured Ryan Kent, and made a fantastic impact on the game to help Gers to victory.
Speaking to RangersTV, the winger explained: “I think you could tell by the celebration, I was absolutely delighted. I think the boys played really well – it was a difficult game to break them down, and we are going to face that a lot so we needed to work on it, and today, we got the 3-1 win.
“I was just trying to win the ball back, get the fans on their feet and create things when I came on. I think the boys did well and we played well as a team – we stuck-in as it was a difficult game and we got the win.”
Barker now cannot wait for Gers’ next game – the Europa League visit of Feyenoord to Ibrox on Thursday.
He added: “It’s really exciting – and that’s why you come to Rangers – to play in these European games. I’m excited and I’m an ambitious player – I want to be a part of that squad and hopefully the boys can do well there.”
Barker also discussed how he’s been settling into life at Ibrox, continuing: “I’m buzzing and I have always got a smile on my face. It is a brilliant place to be and I think all the boys would tell you that.
“I’m just delighted I have the opportunity to be a Rangers player and hopefully I can cement my place in the team here.”
