The Gers boss believes the squad can take positives from the last Old Firm derby and is expecting a ‘showcase’ match at the national stadium as they bid for a place in next month’s final.
Speaking to the media at this afternoon’s pre-match press conference, he said: “It is a huge game, we know that the season has been a rough ride for the fans, and this is a chance for us to put a few wrongs right in this game.
“It is just one game, but I think it could have a big impact on the season if we were to win and get back to a Scottish Cup final again - we just need to bring the best version of ourselves.
“The games have been reasonably tight, and they have been won and lost on mistakes and it is important we bring our best effort and our best performance. In the game a couple of weeks ago I thought we performed overall quite well but we just need to eradicate one or two things defensively.
“These players have won these games before and have gone on long runs of being unbeaten in these games so we will see where we are after Sunday. I think it will be a fantastic atmosphere that will showcase Scottish football in a great way.
“There will be a lot of colour, a lot of noise in the stadium and having the 50/50 split of fans will make it a fantastic atmosphere for the players on the pitch but also everybody watching and inside the stadium.
The squad has been handed a boost with Connor Goldson, Ryan Kent and Scott Wright returning to training today. When asked about the impact of Goldson in particular, the manager continued: “They are only arriving back today so we will have to assess where they are, but it is nice to have them back.
“Centre-back has been the one position this year that has not been stable in the team and I think that has had a lot of impact on our season. Connor is our vice-captain, he is a big voice on the pitch and when he plays the results for the team, points per game and everything goes up, so it is nice to have him back.
“It has been great to have John Souttar the last three or four weeks, at times he has performed well in the games so if that is a sign of moving forward that gives us some strength. The most important thing for me is stability in the team in key positions, goalkeeper, centre-back, number nine and possibly this year that hasn't been the case.”
When asked about the progress over the past few months, Beale said he is looking forward to a positive future.
He continued: “Out of 23 games we have won 19, we have had a couple of defeats that have been hard to take the last couple of weeks, but I think the progress has been made in terms of we are much clearer now in terms of decisions we need to make this summer.
“These decisions have been ongoing in the background, we know where we need to recruit and the areas we need to improve. There's a lot of harmony behind the scenes, there has obviously been change within the club structure as well and that is ongoing, but I am super positive about the future.
“You see small successes, you see things coming together, you see harmony and you see building. If people outside can't see that the games have been closer than maybe they were a few months before then that is for them everyone has got their own opinion, my opinion inside is that we are working away well.
“All of that aside, this weekend it is two groups of men going out to play a really important game and I just want our team to perform at their best and ultimately we want to get the result - my mind is on that.”
