A comfortable weekend win over Partick Thistle followed by a dramatic midweek victory over Glasgow City has put the Light Blues within three points of the league leaders with six games remaining in the Park’s Motor Group SWPL.
Speaking to RangersTV ahead of the Gers’ return to league action this weekend against Hearts following the Scottish Cup semi-final the midfielder says the squad have gained momentum from their recent results and are ready for what lies ahead.
She said: “I feel like it was good that we had three different games in a way, Partick Thistle was completely different to Glasgow City so that prepared us and our confidence by winning the first game and playing really well in the second game against City.
“We went into the game with full confidence and going again after another win to the cup semi-final, so I feel like all those games benefitted us, the whole team it is massive for us, the club and the fans.
“I think we proved everyone wrong coming back from not the best games against City and Celtic before but now we have gained momentum and we are ready to go again.
“Everyone is full of energy and it feels very fresh, now we are way hungrier than what we have ever been, because it is in our range so all the girls are excited.”
The midfielder believes the side have improved from the one that was held to a goalless draw the last time they faced Hearts back in January and is confident they can come out on top in the contest at Broadwood Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
She added “I think our game has developed after that one and we are so much better on and off the ball.
“We have clear patterns of what we need to do and how to break a compact defence, I don’t think it should be a problem if anything we are going to be the ones that are causing ourselves problems, we just need to keep level headed and focus on the right things.
“We have a good game plan, we just need to follow and trust it, even if we don’t score in the first 15 or 20 minutes we just need to follow the game plan and it will come."
Danielsson discussed the importance of a season defining month for the squad as they look to add to their Sky Sports Cup victory back in December and she believes they will need everyone to play their part in order to bring further success.
She continued: “It is very important, we need everyone in the squad and everyone’s effort in the training sessions and in the games because anything can happen.
“We know that we need to win so it puts us in a situation where it might be a bit pressuring but it is fine, I think everyone knows that and we can deal with it.”
The Rangers number 20 has operated from the wing in recent weeks and she says it is a position she feels she needs to keep improving in but does give her a free role during matches.
She said: “I think it is a hard one, it obviously depends a lot of who we play against, and I have not been playing there too much.
“I have history of playing that position with a different club, but the coaches support me and they allow me to come in and dribble, as well as be in between the lines of the midfield and the backline.
“I guess it is kind of like a free role with some instructions of how to play there but I think I need to work on that a little bit more.”
