It will be the manager’s first-time leading the team into the fixture and he believes it is a match which should be celebrated as the World’s eyes fall on the Scottish Premiership.
Speaking to the media at this afternoon’s pre-match press conference, he said: “It is a real privilege to be involved, it is the fixture where the whole world puts its eyes on Scottish football, it is a fixture that we should celebrate.
“In terms of the football and the spectacle I think it is an amazing game. I loved watching it as a young kid, I loved watching it as a fan and I loved being involved in it as an assistant. I have no fear about playing this game, only excitement and wanting to see where my team is at right now.
“I am still hugely confident, it is Rangers at Ibrox. Last year at times there was adversity in terms of domestic results and in Europe we were able to perform extremely well in the one-off game. I think they know they are in a match, we know we are in a match as well and I am looking forward to it. We'll meet them at the half-way line, we'll look at them head on and we'll go for the three points.
“We have seen in Europe and in some domestic games that they can be vulnerable like any team. It is important that my team focus on that and that we play to our truest level and if we do the game will be close and if we don't it won't be but that is the same against anybody when you play with two even teams.”
With four victories since joining as manager earlier this month, Beale says this fixture will give him a strong indication of where his squad is at moving into the new year.
He continued: “The situation we are in is not ideal but I just want to play this game for what it is, which is a derby and I want to see something from my team in that game.
“We'll either be where I think we should be, a long way from it or we'll be somewhere in between which is probably what I am predicting right now. I think there will be good and bad things in the game but we need feedback because we need to improve and move forward because second is not good enough here.
“It is not win this game and everything is rosy, I realise what I have come into. There's an uphill struggle to win the league at the moment and my players and staff can only do what they have done which is win the four games heading into this game.
“Having the centre-halves back the last couple of games we have obviously kept two clean sheets which is pleasing and in three of the four games we have scored three goals so as much as I want more at this moment in time they have done what's there we will get a lot of feedback after the game.
“It's the sternest test we could have so after the game I'll know exactly the job I have to get Rangers back on top.”
