The captain feels there has been a ‘reset’ since manager Michael Beale joined earlier this month but says it is important the squad continue to build on their performances.
Sitting down to speak to the media at this afternoon’s pre-match press conference, Tavernier said: “It has been good since the Gaffer has come in and we have got the results we wanted but we obviously know there's room for improvement in our performances .
“There has been a reset, when you have the World Cup break and then you get a new manager, everything changes. The Gaffer put his print on the team and it was obviously fresh in terms of how we approached training. We have been really getting behind it and showing signs in games so we just need to show more of those signs, more consistently.
“That is key, the consistency, before the break we didn't have consistency and we have started well with the results. We know there is a level of consistency creeping into our game and that will help us come the game on Monday. We know there have been improvements and we know we have got more to give.”
Tavernier says the Rangers squad are ready to give everything to get a positive result at Ibrox in the second derby of the Scottish Premiership season.
He continued: “We'll be going into this game wanting to get the right result, especially at home but we have got to try and maximise the points and shorten that gap.
“Every single game no matter who we play, if it is Motherwell, Celtic or Aberdeen we have got to be aggressive from the very start and set the tone of the game and that is the minimum we have to do.
“I love these occasions, I love every time I travel and make my way to Ibrox to play, it is a dream come true and you want to have the result after it. I'll be doing everything possible and I'm sure the lads will be doing everything possible to make sure we get the result.
“You have to soak up really quick because it can be over in a flash and these games can be really manic to start with so you have to be controlled and be thoughtful of the way you are playing and just stick to what the team and the manager wants.”
