Notable standout performances from the likes of Alfredo Morelos, Fashion Sakala and Ryan Kent have contributed to the Gers’ current form with Rangers scoring 19 goals in the manager’s eight matches in charge so far.
Ahead of the side’s latest clash as they head to St. Johnstone in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup, speaking to the media Beale has praised the performances of his forward players and the numbers they have produced since he took over.
He explained: “I think there was a big urge for Fashion Sakala and Alfredo Morelos to play when I came in, because they hadn’t played much in the weeks prior to me coming in or regularly.
“We have given them that opportunity and they have rewarded the team, I think Malik Tillman has also had a big impact and Scott Arfield running out of midfield has given us another goal threat.
“We have got four or five goals between those two as well, so I am pleased in an attacking sense, there is a little bit of anxiety sometimes defending, I said a few weeks ago for a team that goes and scores as many goals as we do sometimes you can’t defend while you are attacking.
“There is a balance to be struck, but we are certainly a team that wants to go and put people in the final third and score goals”.
The manager has stated the importance of starting games better after his side had to come from behind to win again in their 3-2 victory over Kilmarnock in midweek.
He said: “It is important that we start games better, in the main some games we have started well, I thought the semi-final we started the game really well and then we conceded against the run of play.
“I have been very impressed with the team is their composure, that is something that in my previous time here that we had to work really hard on, that when we went behind that we didn’t start forcing things.
“I have been pleased with the composure and the amount of passes we are making, and the variety of goals that we are scoring.
“If we can just tighten up on that area it should lead to me having a few calmer afternoons and evenings.”
Beale has highlighted the importance of a settled side as he takes his team to Perth tomorrow evening to begin their Scottish Cup defence as he looks for an eighth win in nine games and to maintain his unbeaten start.
He continued: “There is another game tomorrow, we are a big club and there is always a disaster waiting around the corner, we can’t come off it, we are still trying to push consistency in the way that we play and in team selection.
“I think the relationships on the pitch are stronger, I don’t think it is that complex, if players play together a lot their understanding of each other is good.
“I like the way the team is playing, if you collaborate with them and get their opinion on the way the team is playing, and you go out and train and you drive the standards.
“Generally, I start from the position of strength, it is a fantastic football club, and it has got strong players in the country and league that we play in, my job is to try get some harmony and cohesion.
“We have managed to do that the last few weeks, but we are far from where I want us to be, we have still got quite a long way to go, having said that we are dominating possession and scoring goals which is a good sign.
“If we can tighten up on some moments where we are a little bit anxious then we will be alright, I prefer the team to bold in those moments, not on the back foot just stay on the front foot.”
