Gers travel to McDiarmid Park for the fourth-round tie as they begin their defence of the trophy against Callum Davidson’s side.
Speaking to the media at this afternoon’s pre-match press conference, Davies said: “I’m looking forward to it, it is another cup competition and another chance at a trophy as well. When you come here you want to win trophies and Saturday is the first step to get a run going.
“We are in a good run of form, even if we have been going a goal behind, we still feel confident that we are going to bounce back and win the game, so we are looking forward to it and hoping to carry on this form. It obviously makes the game easier if we don't go behind early, it’s not the plan and we want to cut that out and get back to getting clean sheets.”
When asked about his partnership with Connor Goldson, Davies said he feels ‘more comfortable’ each game as they continue to build their relationship at centre-back.
He continued: “I think when Connor is playing it makes it easier, he is a leader. I have always found throughout my career when there is a bigger centre-half next me they can be more dominant. That is probably when I have played the best in my career when the other defender has been the dominant one, so I think that that suits my game.
“It is not just Connor but the back four in general, coming in I just wanted to fit in nicely to that and get partnerships going and help the team going forward so now that I can play every week I feel a lot more comfortable.
“For the team a settled back four is a lot more helpful you can get relationships going. Obviously, whoever I play with and who ever plays is trying their best but I think having that settled back four is helpful.”
With around 7,500 supporters expected in Perth tomorrow evening, Davies hopes Rangers can send them home happy with a positive performance at McDiarmid Park.
He continued: “The more I am here, the more I realise it is an honour and a privilege to play for the club. When I came up I expected that to be the case but the more games I play I realise the size of it.
“I realise what it means to the fans and to have that many fans away from home is brilliant and we want to go and put on a good performance and send them home happy.”
