Beale Stresses Importance Of Three Points

MICHAEL BEALE has stressed the importance of gaining three points as Rangers maintained their winning run with a 2-1 victory over Ross County at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership this afternoon.

The Light Blues were pegged back midway through the second half after Malik Tillman had put his side ahead, but they responded almost immediately as Borna Barisic's free-kick deflected beyond Ross Laidlaw in the Staggies goal.

Speaking to RangersTV after the triumph, Beale underlined the significance of prevailing with a victory in front of a home crowd: "I'm delighted with the three points. It's three games in a week where we have picked up maximum points so I'm delighted with the result.

"The performance - in parts - was good, but I thought we were a bit fussy with our final shot, taking too many touches in and around the penalty box.

"We scored an excellent first goal and it goes to show that if you don't do your job on a set-piece, you can find yourself chasing the game. We managed to get the goal, a little bit fortuitously with the deflection off the free-kick, but it's three points and we move again. There will be days where we play better, but ultimately it's about the three points."

Tillman replaced John Lundstram after the Englishman was forced off inside ten minutes through injury, with the USA international impressing once again as he capped off a tremendous move that involved Alfredo Morelos and Todd Cantwell to break the deadlock on the stroke of the interval.

Beale continued: "Todd has come in and the way that he's played has been absolutely fantastic. I thought he was very, very good again today. Malik has come on and he's been excellent, another goal from him arriving in the penalty box which I'm really pleased with.

"I'm delighted with Malik. At 20-years-old, every game he's having an impact and that's two goals in two games now. He done some fantastic things and he was very close to adding another goal. I thought he and Todd were fantastic for us today.

"After losing John we obviously decided to go really attacking which unbalanced us a little bit at times defensively. However, I felt that was the benefits to going and trying to score goals.

"It was most important today that we win. It's clear that we need to continue working, we had a really good performance on Wednesday and people get carried away. I'm the one that needs to temper that a little bit because there's work for me to do."
