The Gers signed off for the season with a 3-0 victory at the home of St. Mirren, powered by a brace from Fashion Jr. and a late Antonio Colak header.
Speaking to RangersTV after the triumph, Beale lauded both another clean sheet on the road and the leadership qualities of Arfield and McGregor: “We’re right up there with our clean sheets this season. I believe that it’s the 16th clean sheet in the league so well done to the boys for that.
“Robby has come in and we’ve saw no change in terms of him coming in as a young goalkeeper taking over from someone like Allan who has been a stalwart for many years.
“I want to mention him and Scott because we’re losing a lot of experience and standards, so I’m expecting one or two others to step up now. That’s the message to the group, those two players have been there and saw it at this club, played in the Premier League, and we’re going to need one or two others to step up into those leadership roles.”
Fashion Jr. was at the heart of most things bright for Rangers, taking his goal tally to 12 for the campaign with strikes either side of the interval.
Colak, in the meantime, rounded off an impressive debut campaign in front of goal as he moved level with captain James Tavernier on the scoring charts with a well-taken header.
Beale added: “We changed things up a little bit tactically, playing Fashion Jr. and Rabbi [Matondo] a little bit wider and Todd [Cantwell] as a false nine.
“It was a great pass from Ridvan for the first goal. It’s the strangest carpool in the world, Ridvan and Fashion, and they’re bringing that friendship onto the pitch which I’m delighted with. The second half, Fashion threatened to do that earlier in the first half.
“He’s a bubbly character and he’ll keep going in there and getting goals. He’s scored a lot of goals and he’s been very effective since we came back into the club, and he’s had a couple of misses that he’ll want to improve on, but he keeps getting in there with the same enthusiasm so well done to him.
“It was also nice to get a goal from a set-piece because we’ve improved in that area, and it was nice for Antonio as he’s had a tough six months through injury to score the last goal of the season.”
