The Croatian sprung from the bench to put the game beyond doubt for Rangers in this afternoon’s 3-0 victory over St. Mirren in Paisley, stooping to head Nicolas Raskin’s flick-on home from close range.
Speaking to RangersTV, Colak reflected on his first season at the club after netting the final goal of the campaign: “I saw that there was only a goal difference between myself and Tav.
“I’m really happy to join him at the top, but of course without the team I wouldn’t be there due to the perfect service that they give to me. I will have a chat with Tav about how we’re going to share the trophy!
“I always work hard and stay positive to come back stronger, and you saw today that I work for these moments to be there on the pitch. It doesn’t matter how long, to be there on the right spot when it counts, so I’m really happy about the goal.
“The forward also paid tribute to the Rangers supporters who once again turned out in their numbers away from home as they bid farewell to Allan McGregor and Scott Arfield.
He added: “It’s always a difficult game to come back into, and it was my first time playing away to St. Mirren. I think we played well, Fashion scored two amazing goals, and it was my wish to enter the game and score. At the end, to win 3-0 and finish the season like that, we’re really happy.
“It was really important for us, but also for the fans who have always supported us both home and away. We wanted to give them something back in the last game, and for us personally we always want to win. We have a decent number of points, but we ultimately didn’t get a trophy. It’s something that we want to change next year, to play well but also win silverware.”
