Wilson leaves Ibrox after three years in his role where he played an influential role in the club’s historic 55th league title success, the 34th Scottish Cup triumph, a memorable run to the Europa League final, and this season’s return to the Champions League group stages for the first time in 12 years.
Speaking to RangersTV following Wilson’s departure, Beale said: “You’re disappointed to lose a good person and someone who I have worked with for the last three-and-a-half years in two spells at the club.
"Ross was hugely positive in his day-to-day work at the club, and he brought a lot of departments together. His job was to oversee first-team football operations, recruitment, medical, Academy, women’s team, and to align all of those.
“We’ve seen good success in the time that he’s been here, and he was influential in me coming back to the club. He’s a person who I spoke to the most out of anyone at Rangers, and he was between me and the board. I feel that I’ve lost a good ally.
"A big strength of Ross’ was that he never micro-managed anyone. He allowed people to grow in their role and do their role to the fullest. There is a void in the short-term with Ross leaving, but the heads of department are ready to step into their role. For myself, a lot of plans going into next season in terms of pre-season and recruitment has already been done.
“I’m disappointed for Rangers that Ross has moved on, but on a personal level, I’m happy for him and his family that he feels this is a challenge he would like to take. We wish him well and feel that he did a good job here, but now it’s time to move forward strongly and that starts this weekend in the St. Mirren game.”
Wilson helped devise the now operative player trading model at Ibrox, highlighted in the club record sales of Nathan Patterson and Calvin Bassey in the last 18 months.
However, Beale insists that Wilson’s departure will not alter the club’s recruitment plans heading into the summer, stating that it’s business as usual on the pitch in the short-term for the Gers.
He continued: “In terms of recruitment and targets, me and Ross have been working closely on that. We have an extensive recruitment team and analysis staff that collate the data. There are meetings that have already been had, and pre-season has very much been finalised.
"It’s now about ticking one or two boxes in some areas, while there are players that perhaps see their futures elsewhere. The main part of recruitment in terms of identifying players has already happened and it’s now about executing those deals.
“I will fill that void as manager and oversee some of the departments at the moment, strongly supported by Stewart Robertson, John Bennett and the rest of the board. We have a really experienced staff and Ross allowed people to flourish in their roles as heads of department.
"There’s only a small portion of the season to go and then we’ll assess everything in the summer as any club would in terms of their structure. Nothing changes massively in terms of the team preparation, the training and how we’re going to play and approach games as that’s on me and my management team. We’ve trained well this week and it’s work as normal in that sense.”
The Light Blues return to Scottish Premiership action with the visit of St. Mirren on Saturday afternoon as they look to continue their strong home record under Beale this term.
He added: “It’s strange having played 21 domestic games and we haven’t played St. Mirren yet. They’ve been going great guns and they’re three points off third place. European football is very much an opportunity for them to go and grasp it.
"We’re now entering the period of the season where you play the teams in-and-around you. Aberdeen and St. Mirren are those teams and then you head into the split, so it’s likely that we’ll play those teams two more times and not just once.
“In terms of the squad from last weekend, Connor [Goldson] won’t return. He is more likely to be back for Aberdeen, or certainly for the Scottish Cup semi-final at the end of the month. We’ve got one or two bumps and bruises and some players who didn’t train this morning.
"There was a game on Tuesday against Chelsea’s Under-21s that Scott Wright, Ianis Hagi, Leon King and Rabbi Matondo were able to play and get valuable minutes. We’ll assess again and pick the squad for the weekend.”
