Coming off the bench the winger was on hand to volley home what proved to be the games defining moment as the Light Blues left the capital with three points.
Speaking to RangersTV after the game Hay was happy to come up with the crucial moment in the match and make an impact on the game from the bench to deliver the win for her side.
She said: “I am delighted to get the goal, being on the bench and coming on it is your job to make a difference and try make an impact and I think all the girls who came on really did that.
“It just shows that we stick together as a group and no matter who is playing or coming on we all work hard for each other and at the end of the day we all want the same outcome, so it is important that we stick together and we use the depth of the squad.”
The Rangers number seven stressed the importance of finding a way to win in a game where the hosts limited the Gers to few clear cut opportunities.
She continued: “We are delighted to get the three points, Spartans made it very difficult in the first half, they defended the box well, and they tried to disrupt our play and they didn't let us play through the middle.
“When we came out in the second half we tried to use the wider areas more and just stretch the game, made it bigger and give ourselves the best possible chance to get a goal and we did in and that puts us in a good place now.”
Hay was happy the team were able to remain patient and find the breakthrough in what was a hard fought three points for the away side on the day.
She added: “We need to stay patient because teams are going to play to try break our style of play down, we have faced it many times this season.
“To come away with a 1-0 win just shows the importance of keeping patient and believing in ourselves that we will get that goal in the end”.
The forward wants the team to go on a run again after they made it back to back victories following their 5-0 win over Partick Thistle in midweek.
She said: “We need to keep that winning momentum going, nothing less than that anymore, and we know that.
“We put those standards on ourselves so we go into next week against Hamilton and we go out and we play our football and we go for the three points before the split.”
