The Light Blues continued their positive league momentum and ensured there was no hangover from last weekend’s Sky Sports Cup final success.
Hay was on the scoresheet twice, either side of the half-time interval, as well as teeing up Rio Hardy in the first half.
Speaking to RangersTV after the victory, Hay commented: “It was a brilliant game.
“The early goal set us up because the last time we played Hearts we were a little bit disappointed in ourselves and the way we started the game.
“It felt like a lifetime, to be honest! I was just happy to score.
“I’ve been at the club for many years and that was my first goal at Ibrox.
“I was totally buzzing, and to get the game off like that was good for me.
“It’s a big moment for the players and all the girls feel that. There is a real buzz and energy about it before we go out to play.
“It’s an amazing occasion to play here and it was really fun to be involved in.”
A sun-soaked Ibrox was the stage for this afternoon’s contest as those in royal blue certainly put on a show.
Jo Potter’s side were relentless from the get-go, spearheaded by Brogan Hay who hustled and harried Hearts in their attempts to build play from deep.
He added: “We worked a lot on ways to press and to build, so the way that we worked on the training pitch showed today which is pleasing to see.
“I think there were great energy levels from the girls which carried on from last week, so I think it’s really good that we got off the mark quickly today and continued it throughout the 90 minutes – the subs that came on too – was really impressive.
“You can see that we’re really enjoying it. As a footballer when you enjoy it you tend to play a lot better and get more confidence.
“It was evident today in our performance and there was a real energy to our performance.
“It looks like we’re never giving up and fighting for the badge for each other.”
