On a sunny Mother’s Day in the iconic stadium, the Light Blues started where they left off in their cup final success last weekend with two goals in either half sealing an impressive victory in their final fixture before the international break.
Speaking to RangersTV to reflect on the result in league action, the former Lioness highlighted her team’s opening to the match to set them on their way.
She said: “I was really pleased; I was really pleased with the start to the game because that is something that we didn't do particularly well in our last encounter.
“I thought we dominated and showed our intent from minute one.
“I thought we could have had another few more goals, I said the same last week but you can't really complain with a clean sheet and scoring four really good goals.”
“It makes such a difference, our intent, our front foot and our pressure.
“They have got a hunger about them at the moment.
“There is a real competitiveness in the group and a desire to want to do well.
“You can always have a bit of a hangover after winning a trophy but I think that just showed everybody that we didn't have that and we had every intention to come here and put on a performance and get three points.”
The boss has praised the impact of winger Brogan Hay, who on the day was given the player of the match award after an impressive afternoon’s work at Ibrox.
She continued: “Two goals and an assist from Brogan I think that is.
“I said it for a long time she knows it I have asked for more from her in terms of the attacking threat because the girl does so much work out of possession.
“She works her socks off and she never gets her just rewards in the other half of the pitch but again I think she is proving to a lot of people what type of player she is.
“To step up and keep assisting goals in these big games and she has come with two big goals and the first one is a key time to score as well.
“I think the pressure that she puts on the keeper and being able to nick the ball in that position and go on and score is massive for this team.
“She has had a really good couple of weeks and hopefully she continues.”
The Gers now head into the second international break of the year on the back of a brilliant few weeks for the club, as they get set for a week of matches including an Old Firm derby, Glasgow City clash and a trip to the capital to face Hibs on their return.
She added: “It was exactly what we needed.
“It can be a difficult fixture, especially after the performance of the last one against them.
“We will come back into a really tough three-game week, every game is super tough now.
“It doesn't matter who we play in that three-game week it will be tough.
“We need to make sure we are using this international break wisely, doing the work that we need to do but make sure we really rest and recharge and are ready to go again.”
