The Light Blue expressed her emotions to lift the league trophy for the first time in club history after an undefeated campaign with one game to go.
The squad managed to pick up a point in today’s match against Glasgow City to put them out of contention for the league for the first time in fourteen years.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV after being crowned champions, she said: “It’s surreal right now, you look around and there’s happy faces. I think we thoroughly deserve it; we’ve had a great season – having been at the club for five years, it feels amazing.
“It feels like the day has finally come that we’ve gotten what we deserve, we’ve just got to be thankful for the club for the opportunities they’ve given us and the back up we’ve had from everyone to make this happen.
Hay was delighted to lift the trophy in front of a sold-out Auchenhowie and insisted the fans have been a massive influence on the squad this season.
She added: “I think to have our families here and for them to witness it, it’s something special. To have the fans watching us, they’ve pulled us through a lot of tough games this season, without them it could’ve been a lot harder for us – they’ve given us that extra drive from the side of the pitch, and it’s given us more confidence in ourselves.
“It’s an unbelievable feeling, you can’t even describe it. It’s just pure happiness, you can see it in everybody’s faces today, everyone is buzzing.”
