The winger, who added her second strike of the season this afternoon to give her side the lead, doubled her tally for the campaign having got off the mark against Montrose on the opening day.
Speaking to RangersTV to look back on the win, she commented: “It is something that I really want to work on as a player is adding more goals to my game.
“Having that bit of a higher starting position this season hopefully that helps. I am glad to open the scoring today and take the three points in the end.
“I think from us we hold higher standards for ourselves and the performance could have been a lot better but in the long run we have took the three points and we'll look at what we could have done better in the game and what didn't go too well for us.
“Ultimately we will take the three points but there is things that we need to work on from today.”
Despite the win, it was a frustrating afternoon for the Light Blues who couldn’t kick on from controlling the game and going two goals in front, but the Scotland international says the team will keep continuing to learn under new Head Coach Leanne Crichton.
She continued: “We had a lot of the ball in the first half. We maybe weren't hurting them with it and we weren't creating enough chances.
“We had plenty of set pieces as well that we maybe need to try and take advantage of the number of corners we had.
“But to get a goal in the first half you would think it would help us to try and settle a bit but we didn't really kick on from there.
“It was just a wee bit flat so I think we need to find a way to maybe up the energy levels as the game went on.
“We are working a lot behind the scenes on the training pitch and stuff that we want to do in the game.
“Our job as players is to replicate what the coaches are trying to teach us on the training pitch it to replicate it in a game and that is something that the games go on that we will try and really bring in onto the pitch.
“It has been good, a new manager in and we are really working hard behind the scenes but we need to kick on from here and there is plenty games to play.”
Rangers will now ready themselves for the first installment of the Old Firm derby in 25/26 and Hay shared her excitement at hopefully being involved in the fixture she is very familiar with once again.
She added: “I am looking forward to it.
“It is a big fixture but we need to have a look at today's game, see the parts that we can work on and look ahead to next week and we will put the work in training this week and we look forward to another game.”
