Having to work in the latter stages of the match to get over the line, the Light Blues overcame Motherwell 2-1 at Broadwood, thanks to a goal in each half from Brogan Hay and Kirsty Howat respectively before seeing the game out towards the end.
Speaking to RangersTV to reflect on the 90 minutes, she said: “First and foremost really pleased with the three points. I think in the league this season it is super competitive and we know how difficult sides like Motherwell are going to be.
“In terms of their recruitment and how they have strengthened and the level of respect that we have got for them. Hats off to them in terms of their application in the game and for us it is three points.
“I think we have made the game a lot more difficult for ourselves than we perhaps needed too. I felt we started the game in a reasonable manner in how we looked to move the ball and the things that we have worked on this week. In terms of the movement, the rotations and how we felt we could go and cause Motherwell real problems.
“Then at the point you get yourself in front, you feel you can take a little bit more control and start to kick on but the type of game it was today I don't think we managed to go through the gears as well as we could have and certainly what we had planned for.
“Then when you go 2-0 it becomes that type of scoreline that the next goal is really important if you don't manage the game and for us we found ourselves on the receiving end and conceded a really cheap goal.
“It makes the final 15 minutes really interesting because Motherwell have got the belief that they can go and get something from the game.
“For us we had to dig in and it was the type of performance towards the end that you don't necessarily want to see but the reality it is three points and you have got to manage the game and see it out and ultimately that is what we managed to do.
The Head Coach praised match winning contributions from the pair on the scoresheet, with Hay grabbing her second of the season in the process and Howat getting off the mark for the campaign.
She continued: “Brilliant, Brogan does really well and gets the opener for us and that is something with the conversations that I have already had with Brogan this season is more goal contributions, more assists, getting yourself into those attacking areas and causing as many problems as you can.
“At times it is nice if you can lay on an assist for a teammate but for Brogan I think adding goals to her game will be the difference this season and she has managed to do that already, which is fantastic.
“The second goal is a real bit of quality. The quality that we were looking for at different points in the game and it eventually clicked in the second half and Kirsty does really well with the finish.
“As she does, she is a top footballer and her and Wilko probably felt that they had a frustrating afternoon this afternoon.
“Working side to side, constantly looking to try and link the game and you feel for them in those types of moments but Kirsty certainly didn't mess about with her finish.”
Rangers will now ready themselves for the first derby of the season to come next weekend, as Crichton shared her excitement of being involved in the fixture as boss for the first time.
She added: “It is three points and it is the same three points that you get for winning any game regardless of who you come up against.
“The important thing for us was we were at home and we take advantage of those moments at home. We understand next week will be different certainly when you travel to Celtic, which is a game I am looking forward to.
“The players are certainly looking forward to and once we can review tomorrow and look to move through the week we will really shift the focus.
“We are in a good place, I think we are building week on week, we are getting players back as well.
“Again Kathy Hill coming back into the team, she had a really frustrating pre-season but for her to come back and in and lead and really contribute is important for us.
“It is an opportunity for the players around her, the young players to learn and develop as well that have come into the team. As long as we keep moving forward we will certainly be ready for next week.”
