The winger was on hand to find the breakthrough for the Gers in their 2-0 win over Hearts having not given up on the chance before firing it into the top corner to give her side the advantage going into the break, before Rio Hardy rounded the contest off in the second half.
Speaking to RangersTV after scoring her third goal of the season to help the Gers to a seventh league win in a row, she said: “We had more clear-cut chances, and it’s important to keep at it and not give up. Because, as we saw, a chance could open up in front of goal, and I am happy to score.
“It is obviously great to get the three points and keep a clean sheet.
“I think in the first half we had some more chances that we probably should have taken in front of goal and made the game a bit easier for ourselves, but most importantly we have got three points today.”
The 25-year-old spoke of the mindset of the squad heading into the contest as they learned from their last fixture at the Oriam and says the timing of the second goal was crucial to help them to victory.
She continued: “I think if we come in confident and that is what we have done today, we believed in ourselves that we were going to take away three points and you see in the performance that people want on the ball, no one is shying away from it.
“I think we have learned from our mistakes last year that it hurt us but it is a new season and we need to focus on this one.
“It is good to go in at 1-0. Jo just said that we kind of need to stay on it a wee bit more and stay on the ball because when we stay on the ball we make things happen and not to rush our play because the pitch opens up.
“I think it was just to keep on it the second half and obviously to get the second goal is such a relief as well.”
The Light Blues now turn their attention to the start of the defence of the Sky Sports Cup having won the trophy in the previous two campaigns, with the attacker hopeful of a deep run in the competition once again.
She added: “It is always good to play in Cup games. We are looking forward to it and we have got the Sky Sports Cup from last year.
“It was a great day and I am sure all the team will want to push as far as we can and create more memories.”
