The Light Blues controlled proceedings overall as they ran out 2-0 winners over Hearts at the Oriam to make it seven wins on the bounce at the start of the new SWPL campaign.
Speaking to RangersTV to reflect on the 90 minutes in the capital, the manager commented: “I was pleased with the three points, I thought that was really important for us.
“There was most parts of the game where I thought we were in complete control.
“I think you and go we probably should have taken a few more of our chances early in the game.
“I think when you get clear-cut chances in the first 20/30 minutes it can change just the swing of the game and go 2-0 up early it looks very different so I thought it was good to get the goal before half time, that was big for us.
“As you could see the second goal just killed the game off and we relaxed a little bit more but there were still elements that we needed to be better with, just a little bit frustrating at times but I thought the control of the game and spending the majority of the game in their half was good from us.”
The former Lioness praised the two goalscorers on the day as Brogan Hay and Rio Hardy were both on target either side of half time to give the visitors breathing space in the contest.
She continued: “I have spoken to Brogan about shooting more. She does it in training, she scores plenty of goals every single day.
“I have asked her for a higher output goals wise, so I was pleased that she managed to get on the scoresheet today and I thought Rio took the second one really well.
“She had a couple of chances before that where I thought she probably should have at least hit the target, but she knows that, I don't need to tell her that and that second goal was big for us.
“That one killed the game off so she took it really well so we will build on it, there is still little things that we can work on but the main thing today was three points.”
Potter also highlighted the clean sheet in Edinburgh which helped her side on their way as they limited their opponents to very little throughout.
She added: “I only really remember the safe from Vic from a free kick and that came from us being a little bit sloppy in possession on a transition.
“I don't really remember her having to do much more other than that.
“That's pleasing from that element, it is tough to make sure that you are controlling a game for 90 minutes because it is never going to happen.
“It is just how can we lessen that for the opposition and lessen their strengths and make sure that they don't get too much off a foothold in the game so there is things for us to look at but on the whole today it was more pleasing that we come away with three points and a clean sheet.”
