Budinauckas: Team Can Take Encouragement

LEWIS BUDINAUCKAS says Rangers B can take encouragement from their 0-0 draw with East Kilbride in the Lowland League.

The Light Blues produced a positive performance in Dumbarton but were held to a rare goalless draw in the context of their league campaign.

Speaking to RangersTV after the game, the young goalkeeper says his side were unfortunate not to prevail with all three points: “I thought at times we created really good chances, but we weren’t clinical enough.

“It was a good save from the goalkeeper for the penalty, but I thought overall we deserved to win the game. It was just that final action, the pass, shot or decision making that was lacking.”

The games are coming thick and fast for David McCallum’s side in the Lowland League, and they have the opportunity to make an immediate return to winning ways with the visit of Cumbernauld Colts on Saturday afternoon.

Lewis continued: “I’m delighted with the clean sheet, but I would rather that we won the game.

“East Kilbride are a good team and they’re high up the league for a reason. We need to look ahead to Saturday now and try to improve and get the three points. We’ll be looking to take maximum points from that and just take every game as it comes.”
