The Gers found themselves a goal down at the interval in Ayrshire but responded in impressive fashion with goals from captain James Tavernier and Tom Lawrence to claim a massive three points in Ayrshire.
Speaking to RangersTV after the match the goalkeeper spoke of the character shown from the team in the second period after his smart save sparked his side into life to march to victory.
He commented: “To be honest it was a huge moment. I think the lad thought he had scored, so it is nice to have that moment and that can sometimes take the wind out of a team's sails as well.
“It seemed to give us a lift, it could have gone a little bit sideways at that point if that goes on, so it is nice to contribute with that and ultimately set us up for a really big second half.
“What pleased you the most about the win? Just the fact that we got the result. At this stage of the season it is really important that you just keep the momentum going, keep picking up your wins.
“It is a tough place to come, I know people sort of regurgitate that all the time but it is tough. On a difficult pitch I know that gets spoke about as well but they are a team that knows what they are about and they do it really well.
“They don't give you a lot of space to breath and they whip crosses in and the delivery is great from set-plays, they make it tough for you.
“You go behind to a penalty and it feels like you have got a bit of an uphill battle so you just need to remain calm which we did.
“Obviously you are then desperate to try and get back an equaliser quick. We knew we had enough time and that was the message at half time really is just to remain calm.
“We needed to get back playing, get the ball down more. We were a bit sloppy with the ball. Ultimately we got what we wanted and probably deserved from in the end as well.”
The Englishman praised his skipper and the character in the dressing room with two goals in four second half minutes sending them to 11 wins in a row since the winter break.
He continued: “That is what Tav does, it is not easy for someone to step up and take pens like he does and score goes like he does.
“Especially free kicks as well, it is something that he works on religiously every day.
“When you are a leader like he is, when you play the way he does and when you practice the way he does, those opportunities go in. He earns them and he has come up with another vital goal for us today.
“The dressing room and you can see it at the end, there was never any panic. We just remained calm, kept reiterating at half time why we are in the position we are and how we have got back here and all the rest of it and we just continued to do that second half.
“Remain calm and in the end two brilliant finishes from Tav and Tom and that gets us the three points that we were after.”
