The 18-year-old netted in last night’s 2-1 win over Partick Thistle which sealed his side’s place in the Glasgow Cup final.
Burnside was on the scoresheet twice for the Under-18s against St. Mirren last Friday evening, while he also produced a composed finish against Aberdeen earlier this month.
Speaking to RangersTV, the in-form youngster commented: “I feel that I’m playing quite well personally and I’m chipping in with a few goals, so I’m delighted.
“I’m a forward-thinking player and I can play across the front three. The main part of my game is scoring goals and getting goal contributions.
“What do I remember about my goal? I just made a run into the penalty box and saw Jack Wyllie standing on the right-hand side.
“He played a great ball in, and it was just about composure to finish.”
Chris Eadie added to Burnside’s opener in a rampant opening 20 minutes from the Light Blues against the Jags.
The away side then responded by striking early in the second period to reduce the arrears, although Stevie Smith’s side were able to restore a foothold in the contest and seal their place in the final.
Burnside said of the display: “We’re absolutely delighted. We produced a really good performance as a team, and we were all delighted in the changing room to get to the final.
“Stevie [Smith] said to us to go and do what we’ve been doing all season. I thought we had done that.
“We started really well, got the two goals early, and we managed to relax the game.
“They then started going a lot more direct against us.
“They were a lot older than us because we have quite a young team ourselves and it was something we haven’t faced much this season. We dealt with it very well.
“They were putting it on top of us, especially in the first 15 minutes of the second half where we were under the cosh.
“But it’s a different side of football that you need to learn.”
