Appearing on the pitch for the first time since August after recovering from injury, the midfielder was the difference maker as her strike fired Rangers to victory in the clash at New Douglas Park as they claimed a 3-2 win.
Speaking to RangersTV to reflect on the moment, she commented: “All that was going through my mind was to make up for giving away their free kick that they scored from.
“I knew I had to do something so that was one way to do something for sure.
“No complaints whatsoever, you couldn't ask for a better Sunday really.
“Credit to all the backroom staff that have helped me get to this point and be able to get on the pitch again against our rivals, I am over the moon.”
The 25-year-old has spoken of her time on the sidelines, and says it was always her aim to try get back in time to take part in the second derby of the season.
She continued: “Obviously it was an injury that we didn't expect to be as bad as what it was but from them on when I got the scan results I knew that I just had to keep working hard.
“The physios and backroom staff have been amazing with me.
“Full credit to them, I have worked hard to get back on the pitch and little did they know that this was my aim to get back for this game so I am absolutely buzzing.
“Competition is high within the team and I am well aware of that.
“The girls have been playing superb, so it is just about building each week and pushing myself in training as well.
“I will keep building but I know how well the squad are doing and I am proud of them as well.”
Rangers now host Dundee United next Sunday in their final fixture before the international break and Cornet has stressed the importance of another three points in that match.
She added: “The three points is the main thing for us. We know as a team how well we can perform and I think we have gone and showed spells of that.
“There is lots more to come from us and we just need to keep building.
“It is a big fixture and we'll prepare the same way we do for every game.
“All we will be looking for from that game is to take a big three points and I am sure the girls will do that.”
