The Scotland international was part of the Gers side that triumphed in the competition for the first time ever just a little over 12 months ago in the Scottish capital.
It remains the last piece of silverware that the Light Blues have managed to get their hands on, and Cornet is hoping to channel the memories of that afternoon at Tynecastle heading into Sunday’s final against Partick Thistle.
Speaking to RangersTV to preview this weekend’s clash, the midfielder commented: “I have so many fond memories from before. The pitch, and the stadium, is amazing to play at, so we’re hoping for as many fans in to create that same atmosphere.
“What do I remember about it? The celebration and the crowd, and just everyone buzzing. There’s no better feeling than winning a cup, so, yeah, it’s something that we’re looking forward to.
“It’s nice to get your hands on silverware as a player, and obviously as a manager as well. Those moments are something that you cherish and remember forever.”
Jo Potter’s side are still in contention across three competitions this season, with Sunday’s cup final kicking off an exciting run of fixtures in both the SWPL, of which the Gers sit atop the table, and Scottish Cup.
Cornet insists the mantra is just one game at a time among the dressing room, although she believes victory on Sunday will showcase the squad’s ability to cope with the expectations.
She continued: “We’re all buzzing. We’ve had a really good week so far and we’re looking to continue that right up until Sunday. Our main aim is to retain that cup.
“I think we’ve got a great mix of experience and youth within our squad. The youngsters have really stood up throughout the season, and they’re all really excited. For many of them it will be their first cup final, and we’re all excited.
“It’s been a tough journey, and it’s games like Sunday that you need to win to progress. Getting to the final is a good achievement, and we’re now just hoping to add the cherry on top.
“We respect every opponent that we play against. Thistle are a good side, but our main focus is on ourselves and what we can do to be better on the pitch.
“We know that there is a lot of pressure on us as the favourites to win the final, but we’re all looking to handle that pressure well.
“We thrive, if anything, on those expectations, and we’re looking forward to the occasion.”
On the role that the Rangers supporters have to play, the 25-year-old added: “All of the girls have said how nice of a stadium it is to play at, so we’re all really looking forward to stepping foot on that grass.
“We’re hoping to get as much of the stand filled as possible. We greatly appreciate the fans and they follow us near and far. We’re hoping that they do the same on Sunday.”
