The 24-year-old, who joined from Los Angeles FC, has shared his excitement at signing for the club in an exclusive interview with RangersTV.
He said: “I'm very excited to be here, I think this club is amazing. The people here are blessing me with love, and I hope to connect with people quickly.
“The fans were messaging me on my Instagram, and they made me confident to move here because I felt their love and the club with people like Michael (Beale) made the decision easy for me.
“When I spoke to him, he told me about the project, what he wants here for the club and he told me that he wants me here so that’s why I joined because I love his project and his vision for football”
Starting his career in his home country of Ecuador, the midfielder made the move to LA in 2020. His performances in the MLS saw him called-up for his senior national team, representing Ecuador at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022.
Looking back on the past few years, he said: “My career has been fast. I was thinking about 2019 to 2023. It is only four years since I was playing Under-20 for the Ecuador national team and last year I was in Qatar for the full national team at the World Cup.
“I have to say thank God for my career. It's been really good for me because the experience has been amazing and I 100 per cent think Rangers can help me improve.
With the Scottish Premiership season kicking-off tomorrow afternoon, Cifuentes hopes the squad can bring success to Ibrox this campaign.
He continued: “I feel happy to start the new season. I hope I can help the club make something and hopefully if we work together, we can win many trophies.”
