Jo Potter’s side jetted off to Spain on Monday for a week of warm weather training following their Old Firm Glasgow Cup success at the weekend.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV, goalkeeper Fife commented: “It’s been great to be honest. It’s a different environment to what we’re used to.
“We’ve been training in the sun, which is always better than training in the rain in Scotland. It’s been good to have so much time on the pitch together, and we’re looking forward to playing against Levante on Saturday.
“It’s a different team as we’ve not played Levante before. They finished third in the Spanish Primera Division, which is incredible. It will be a test and we’re really looking forward to it. We want to be full steam ahead ready to go when the season starts.”
The camp has offered Potter the opportunity to instil her style of play into the squad, allowing the four new signings – Michelle Colson, Rachel Rowe, Rio Hardy and Sarah Ewens – to integrate with the squad.
She continued: “We have a new manager, coaching staff, and quite a few new players as well. To be here in Spain, training together, and spending time with each other, has been great for both the new players and the manager.
“What Jo and Jay [Bradford] have brought to the team is unbelievable within a month. We have a new style of play and formation, so we’re still getting used to that. It’s been a good experience playing these friendly matches, so we’re all looking forward to going into the new season.
“It’s new to us all as we’re not used to playing in this way. It’s almost as if we’re all new signings because it’s not the style of play that we’re used to. It’s been really good and a real learning experience. We’re moving forward quite fast and it’s good.”
The arrival of Potter has also been welcomed by Fife on a personal level, with the 27-year-old goalkeeper keen to add various aspects to her game.
She added: “It’s a new style of play for me personally. As a goalkeeper, I’ve never really been exposed to playing the way that we are, but I’m loving it. It will only allow me to grow as a player.
“It’s the modern game and what is demanded of goalkeepers these days. I really enjoy the way that Jo wants to play. It was a little bit out of my comfort zone at first, but now that I’ve done it a couple of times it seems completely normal. I’m really looking forward to going into the season.
“Like every year, I want to do the best that I can for the team. That’s my main priority. I want to go into every game prepared to go, and to play my role as best as possible.”
