The Light Blues made it five domestic wins in a row in all competitions in the weekends victory over Livingston as they now prepare for a two-week break before a busy festive schedule to round off the year.
Speaking upon the pause to the domestic season the manager has revealed his plans for the squad as they look to continue their fantastic start to life since he took charge when they return for their Scottish Premiership match against Aberdeen on November 26.
He commented: “This next week we will have a good training week. I will see if we can arrange one game or not, we are still looking for that. The players will have a few days off, not long, three days but also with a running programme, so not three days without anything.
“Then we will start building towards the weekend with every day training. The players who played a lot they will have a programme that is intense but they will also have their three days. The other players who need to build up more after they come out of an injury, they will have a tougher programme to get to the same level as the rest.
“We do it that way and with the internationals we fill up how much they train and play, but there you have less control. You need to see how you need to adapt when they come back.
“I hope they don't forget the story we are building here together. That is always the danger when they come in another environment with other ideas, that they forget some things. That is interesting to see when they are back.”
The Belgian is hopeful of seeing more ‘positive surprises’ from his side in the coming months after making an unbeaten start as Rangers manager since taking over in mid-October, including winning all of his domestic fixtures to date.
He added: “It is difficult to say because I don't put expectations on things, I live from day to day.
“If I step into a club, first I take in a lot of information, I look at a lot of games and I saw all the games. You get an idea of the potential of the group, then you start working with people.
“I am not somebody who has a fixed idea before, also not now about players, because you can always have positive surprises. I love them, that players go beyond expectations and I hope to see a lot of those in the next couple of months.”
