The Gers boss said the manner of the victory and the atmosphere in the stadium was a big statement as goals from Rabbi Matondo and Todd Cantwell saw his side secure another three points in the Scottish Premiership.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, he said: “It is a big step forward, a few months ago they were not ready for that, they would have been only thinking about the disappointment and the goal against. It is a really important evening. It is a big statement from the team about their mentality and from the fans also about how much belief they have in the players.
“You have games in a season where you feel things don't fall on your side clearly. That was the case today with the goal out of one chance just before half-time, with the red card also at the end and with several really good chances and good saves from the goalkeeper.”
With Rangers reduced to 10-men following a red card for Dujon Sterling, and with 8 minutes added on at Ibrox, Clement said the supporters gave his side power to see out the match.
He continued: “The synergy that is back between players and fans is amazing to feel and to see, that was one of the reasons for me to come to Rangers and to create that again, so I am pleased about that for the players and for the fans also.
“It is a really big power, and it gives a lot of energy to the team. You feel now that the fans stay patient, they believe in the team that they will do the job and that they are pushing them until the last second, so it is an amazing feeling to have.
“It is crucial, in that way you can never become tired, you do that extra meter, you do extra duels, and you have more power because the fans give you more energy.”
