The Light Blues claimed a vital three points under the Ibrox lights to carry on their fantastic domestic form with a fifth win in a row at the start of 2024.
Speaking to RangersTV after an important victory for his side, he commented: “We always look every game at a time and three points is what we wanted and we got it. Sometimes games aren’t going to look pretty but I thought we were really dominant with the possession of the ball and moving it really quick and I think it was well deserved that we got the three points.
“We came here tonight to get three points any way necessary, I felt that we dominated the game and we played really good football throughout the 90 minutes.
“We obviously conceded a poor goal on our behalf but I felt we reacted really well; we kept asking questions and the players were in the right place at the right time to get the goals.”
The captain hailed the atmosphere inside the stadium that helped the team get over the line after Todd Cantwell fired the home side back in front with 18 minutes of normal time remaining before seeing the match out in the closing stages.
He continued: “We want to give the fans the performance and we obviously want to hear their noise backing us up throughout the game.
“It goes hand in hand and we will always do everything possible to give the best performance we can and I felt we are growing really well as a team and onto the weekend now.
“You have got to manage the game, obviously losing Dujon and going down to 10 men you have got to manage the game and I felt that we kept it in the right areas at the right time.
“We won the balls, obviously there was a little moment in the six yard box but I think the free kick got given to us. We managed the game really well and the most important thing was to get three points and we did.”
The Light Blues will now swiftly turn their attentions to Scottish Cup duty as they host Ayr United on Saturday afternoon and the skipper wants the team to use the momentum of the week so far to progress through the tie.
He added: “It is hugely important; we obviously want to see it to the end. It is a competition that a lot of the lads have won. We want to get to the final and the game on Saturday is a step in the way and we will be fully ready for what lies ahead.”
