The 21-year-old made the move from fellow Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen earlier this month as he pen to paper on a four-year contract in Glasgow to strengthen Philippe Clement’s side ahead of the start of the 2024/25 campaign.
Speaking to the media for the first time in this afternoon’s press conference after the launch of the Light Blues’ new home kit, the midfielder commented:
“I am absolutely delighted to be here.
“I have settled in very quickly with the boys and we have all hit the ground running so far but it is a pleasure for me to be here at this club and I can't wait to get going and get the season started off.
“When I spoke to Rangers it was a no brainer for me, this is where I want to be and I am here now and it is about me doing what I can on the pitch to make this club even more successful than what it is.
“I think there was a lot of factors. It is such a big club, with great people, staff and a great following and the decision was made easy as soon as I spoke to the club.
“It was the only place that I wanted to be.”
The former Dons player is keen to repay the faith shown in him by his new manager and he is looking forward to the ‘next chapter’ in his career.
He continued: “I think the thing to say is when a manager comes to sign you it is always a great feeling and obviously the gaffer here has done that.
“He has showed that he likes me as a player and that is all you can really ask for.
“It is about now me going and doing my bits on the pitch and making sure I do everything every day to get into that team and be a big player for this club.
“As a player you have got to do things for yourself sometimes and you have got to do what is best for your career at the right time.
“I pay my thanks to Aberdeen, they have obviously brought me up from a boy to the player that I am today so I thank them for everything that they have done to help me get here in my career.
“The next chapter in my career now is Rangers Football Club and I can't wait to get going.
The Scotland Under-21 international is hopeful of adding further quality within the Rangers ranks, as he looks forward to what is hopefully exciting times to come.
He added: “I am a big character in myself. I have been through a lot in my career so far.
“I have experienced many things and there is a lot more experiences to come at this club and hopefully successful times ahead.
“Adding goals to my game? Definitely, It is something I will be working closely with the staff in training every day to add to my game.
“Of course at times at Aberdeen I came up with a couple, circumstances are a bit different in terms of the teams and the way we want to play and stuff like that.
“Coming to a team who play very nice football in a fluent way should help me add that to my game.”
This season’s home kit features a unique diagonal print that reflects the structural architecture that crowns the Bill Struth Main Stand.
The kit’s royal blue is accentuated with touches of red and white.
The inside of the kit contains an iconic quote from our legendary Manager Walter Smith OBE – “There are people for whom Rangers Football Club is their entire way of life”.
