The midfielder was part of Steve Clarke’s squad as they qualified for their first FIFA World Cup since 1998 with a dramatic 4-2 victory over Denmark.
Speaking to the media at this afternoon’s pre-match press conference ahead of tomorrow’s Scottish Premiership match against Livingston, Barron said: “It was an unforgettable night, a real proud moment for me and an honour to be part of the group.
“The way it went you could never write it, it was absolutely brilliant, and then obviously it was great afterwards and all the boys were buzzing.
“You are so focused on the game, and you want the boys to do well, and you are hoping you get on and get a chance but the way the game went was spectacular actually and it is great to see so many smiles on everyone's faces across the country.”
When asked if it had given a lift at club level, Barron continued: "Definitely, I think it does. It is great to be involved in it, and you take it back to your club; that goes for all the boys who have been away.
“You always bring that positive energy back, so it has been great, but you change your thinking straight back to club football the minute you come back in.
“We are fully focused on the game tomorrow and making it four wins from four in the league. That is the plan, we need to take it one game at a time, but we have to go and take the three points tomorrow.”
On working with Danny Röhl so far, Barron continued: “The gaffer has been great, it has been brilliant since he has come in. It has brought a real freshness into the team, and I think we have played well.
“We have been on the front foot, we have been aggressive, and there is a real freshness in the training ground and on the pitch.
“I think you have got to evaluate your performances after every game, and that is something I do individually and with the staff here, they are great at that. We look at our stuff behind the scenes, and we will continue to improve every single game.”
