CONNOR BARRON says the Rangers squad must look to continue the momentum from Sunday’s victory as they take on Sturm Graz in the UEFA Europa League tomorrow evening.
The midfielder insists the squad are excited by the challenge in Austria as they look to get points on the board in the league phase.
Speaking to the press at this evening’s pre-match press conference in Graz, Barron said: “We are buzzing, it will be a tough test, but it is one we are looking forward to and we’ll be ready to go and give it our all to get the three points.
“Last week in Europe wasn’t good enough, it was tough circumstances with the red card, but we are together more than ever, and we have to continue the good bits we had at the weekend and take it into tomorrow night.
“We should’ve put the game to bed earlier than we did on Sunday to be honest, but it dragged on. We stayed together and got over the line which was good. It is about continuing that momentum.
“We have just got to concentrate on each game as it comes and make sure we are doing our job on the pitch. We need to get the performances right and get the right result because at the end of the day that is all that matters.”
On his own start to the season, Barron said he has had to be patient for opportunities but now hopes he can do enough to cement a regular place in the team.
He continued: “I have had to be patient at the start of the season, and I wasn’t playing as much as I would’ve liked to, but it is a competitive team and there’s competition for places which is good.
“I think when I have come on, I have done well, and it is just about me stamping myself into the team and making sure that I stay there.
“The more games you get, the more settled you are, and I feel like I am in a good place at the moment, so I just have to keep that up.”
