RANGERS Academy are today pleased to announce that defender Conor Owen has signed his first professional contract.
The youngster has progressed through the ranks at the club and featured for the Under-16s at the Alkass International Cup in Qatar earlier this year.
He captained the Under-17s to an Old Firm victory on Friday evening in their league opener and will now look to continue his development in the years ahead.
Interim Head of Academy, David McCallum, commented: “We are thrilled to welcome Conor into our full-time programme here at the Academy.
“He is a player with great potential and one who boasts terrific leadership qualities at such a young age, and we believe he is in the perfect environment currently to aid his progression both on and off the pitch as an individual.
"He has shown great potential throughout his time in the Academy, and we’re excited to see him make the step into a professional environment."
