The midfielder opened the scoring in today’s semi-final clash against Debbi McCulloch’s Edinburgh side with just six minutes on the clock and emphasised that the squad are delighted to secure their place in the final next month.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV after their dominant win and performance, she said: “We’re all buzzing! It’s our first final to get to as a team, everyone is ecstatic!
“It’s always good to get on the scoresheet but the win is the most important thing. I think that the whole team played their part in that today.”
The squad netted four goals at Ainslie Park this afternoon but again maintained another key clean sheet throughout the 90 minutes and the versatile midfielder reiterated the importance to remain defensively solid.
She continued: “It’s something that we always want to keep. Defensively we want to be well organised, and I think today that proved that we were with the clean sheet.”
Cornet recognised the challenges presented by Spartans on the pitch today but outlined that the squad knew what to anticipate as they now look ahead to the final at Tynecastle next month.
She added: “We’ve played them previously and we know that they provide a different challenge for us, they are well organised and very physical in the game. We knew what we were going to be faced against and thankfully we managed that very well today.
“It’s a massive stadium to put the women’s game out there, it’s amazing and we’re buzzing for the final.”
