McPherson joined Malky Thomson’s backroom team in the summer having previously worked as part of the boys Academy set-up at Rangers Training Centre.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV this week he said: “It has been great, I had a short spell working with the team and the staff in March and I really enjoyed it and then just before the start of pre-season the opportunity came up to join the staff full-time.
“I think because I knew the group the transition has been quite smooth so it has been great to get to work with them day in day out over the pre-season phase.”
Having already faced Everton and Chelsea as part of a tough pre-season programme, McPherson says Manchester United will provide another good opportunity for the squad.
He continued: “We went down to Everton and performed really well against a good team and then last week against Chelsea the girls really relished the challenge and you could see the quality Chelsea had so I think tomorrow night's game will be similar against a quality team like Manchester United.
“Getting these teams to come up to the training centre is really good and it lets us see where we are and how much progress we have got to make so we are really looking forward to it and hopefully we can do well.”
