The manager was asked today about the excellent performance of Bassey in Friday’s 5-0 win over Dunfermline – but as usual, he wouldn’t be drawn on whether he would feature against Alashkert tomorrow night.
He did however credit the flying left-back for his efforts in the win over the Pars, as well as praise Patterson on the other side of the back four.
The manager said: "I'm not one to give teams out 24 hours before a big game, but what I can confirm is Calvin is in a fantastic place.
"He cannot do any more and is training ever so well. His confidence is high up and I don't think he did much wrong the other night.
"I thought his performance was really strong in and out of possession and he has, since that game, given me something to think about but I will confirm my team tomorrow night.
"I am really happy with both my young full-backs and they are doing everything I am asking of them."
The boss also refused to look ahead to next week, with Gers facing a busy schedule of matches before the international break.
He added: "I think we just play what is in front of us first and foremost. I don't think we have to worry about the second leg or the Old Firm or Ross County right here, right now.
"I think we have to worry about putting a strong team out tomorrow and trying to get a real, positive result that sets us up for next week.
"Then you make decisions after the game when the result is there, but we don't get ahead of ourselves here - it is very much a game at a time and I have said that so many times."
