Under the lights at Ibrox, the Light Blues will be looking to get off the mark in the European competition, but do head into the match on the back of four league wins.
Speaking to the media in this afternoon’s press conference as they prepare to face off against Portuguese side Braga, he said: “Braga have taken a lot of points, more than us.
“They are well organised, they are very aggressive, how they play football against the ball. They have solutions with the ball, I think they will also come with confidence in this competition
“It is for us as well a new challenge, we know we need points in this competition, this is always our goal, to go in such a game.
“Sometimes I miss training time on the pitch to make more steps forward, but this is what it is, and the good thing is in games you get straighter feedback on which direction we are going.
“I want to see tomorrow a next step forward, to compare to the last two European games.
“I think when you see the games yesterday and today and tomorrow at this level, every mistake could be a big mistake.
“It is important in such a game to play without mistakes but play on the front foot, bring the crowd behind you, try something instead of being passive and just waiting.
“This is all I want to see from my team tomorrow, and then let's see, deliver a proper fight and try to get points.
In the midst of a busy run of matches, the Head Coach has challenged his players to take the chances that will present themselves, with every squad member having a part to play in the weeks to come.
He continued: “Every game is an opportunity for players. I had some conversations during the week with some of the players who didn't get the opportunity. I think that is also important.
“When I look at the schedule, we are Thursday and Sunday and then next week again and again.
“Game by game, there are opportunities, I think we now get to a point where we will look to rotate, in some positions you have to.
“It means there are opportunities there and that us up to the players all to use them, you cannot just ask for opportunities and not take them, that is important to understand.
“After the training today, it is very positive, and the players are very focused.
“The players don't expect to play as a starter tomorrow, but also it showed at the weekend that players from the bench helped us to win the game, and this is also important that we see ourselves always as a group and not just as a single person.”
“Football is about consistency and not about just one training session.
“It is about doing it again and again on the highest level, and that is what you have to do as an individual player, but also as a group.
“This is at the moment the biggest part of our development, it starts in training. Train at the highest level, play on the highest level, and this is every three days.
“If you do this, then we will make a huge step forward.”
Having sampled one European night so far in the iconic stadium, the German hopes his Gers side can put on a show for the supporters, where they will look to start climbing up the league phase table.
He added: “The experience I have in the last three or four weeks, I know if we play on the front foot, then the supporters will be straight there and that is what I want to see.
“I know, especially in Europe, there are also opponents, and there are also some good players, and that is not always possible, but this is what we have to try tomorrow.
“To be on the front foot, to try something and to go with confidence and then I am convinced the supporters will be there and will feel it.
“They want to feel that something happens on the pitch in our direction instead of being passive and waiting for something.
“This is our responsibility tomorrow to bring the stadium on fire.”
