First goals in the Light Blue for Derek Cornelius and Youssef Chermiti as well as a fine header from Danilo gave the Gers all three points.
Röhl believes the victory will help build confidence in his squad, but insists it was only a first step.
Speaking to Rangers TV, he said: “It was fantastic, everybody was waiting for the first league win at home.
“To win 3-1 was fantastic, it was a good result, but also we had some good performances from the players, and I really enjoyed the first impression at home.
“Everyone felt that on Thursday it was a big disappointment, but it is normal in the development and taking that first step helps to create self-confidence and the belief in our strengths.
“We have a lot of strengths and potential. It is a long journey back to where we want to go, but this is a good first step.
“When you go into the training ground and you lose games, or have a draw, it is not a great atmosphere.
“Hopefully this result will lift that, but this is one step and not more. We have to put in the same effort, intensity and possession, and if we do that, then we are strong.
“But it is all about hard work.”
Chermiti climbed off the bench and secured the win with the third goal, while fellow subs Mikey Moore, Connor Barron, Max Aarons and Lyall Cameron all impressed.
Röhl was pleased with their impact and was blown away to hear his name sung by the supporters.
He added: “When players come on and help the team and have an impact, this is very important.
“Sometimes players will start and other times they will come on from the bench, but today was a good start from everyone.
“It was special to hear the fans, and it is a good welcome, but it is more that the team can enjoy the walk around.
“For me, results and good football will bring the fans and the group strong together because if you do it together, then we will have a lot of fun and success here.”
