Youssef Chermiti: Delighted To Score First Rangers Goal

YOUSSEF Chermiti said it was an important day for him as he netted his first goal for Rangers in a 3-1 victory over Kilmarnock.

The striker, who joined from Everton in the summer, came off the bench in the second-half to score the third of the afternoon as Danny Röhl’s side secured the three points in the Scottish Premiership.

Speaking exclusively to RangersTV at full-time, Chermiti said: “It is an important day for me to score my first goal as a Rangers player.

“It was a good game from everyone, we conceded a goal but then we came back and we scored two more.

“We played well in the first-half, and at half-time everyone was saying just keep doing what we are doing and then we scored two more goals and it was a great performance from everyone.

“I just took a touch and hit it, it was great to celebrate, and my mum and sister were here today too.”

On how he has found life in Glasgow so far, Chermiti continued: “I like it, everyone is helping me on the training ground, I am enjoying it. It has been good, it has been short with the new head coach, but we have been enjoying it on the pitch and at training.

“Now we are looking forward to the next game, we got three points today and now we are just looking forward, and we are going to try and win more games.”
